The Gift That Keeps On Giving

Receiving yarn for Christmas is a wonderful present. This year, 2 skeins of this:

Now winter was late in arriving to this part of the world. We had a very green Christmas, and truly green, not brown. Now we have snow, and waiting for the train in the morning is definitely chilly. (read - freezing. Sub-zero temps. Plus windchill.) Many of you may not realize the benefit of owning multiple scarves. They make the same boring coat new again - who can resist this splash of colour against a black coat?

The colour is closer to the picture on the left, but the picture on the right shows the detail better. A simple 3-row pattern (Cascade from Vogue Knitting Stitchionary #1, another Christmas Present), fully reversible and no curling whatsoever. I haven't blocked it yet, so keen was I to wear it. I think it will stretch a little, as it's 100% alpaca.

I'm thinking that Eunny's Anemoi Mittens in black and pink will bring the whole ensemble together...
