Happened upon the Winter 2008 offerings from the Twist Collective, a fabulously photographed and put together online knitting magazine. Seriously, if you haven't had a chance to have a look, click on that link. I'll wait here until you get back.
One peek at Vivian, and I was hooked. (Or should that be needled?) Dug out both needles and yarn, and cast on. That Ysolda sure knows how to write a good pattern! Since Wednesday, I've managed to knit this much:

It's a fairly quick knit, chunky yarn on size 5 (8mm) but I have this niggling feeling that the fabric is too stiff. I'm wondering if I should cast off what I've got, and give it a good wash. I usually do worsted on 4.5 or 5, so I would have thought that chunky yarn would have needed slightly larger needles. Still, I love how the cabling looks, and the shaping on this sucker is insane! No chance of box-shaped sweater here!
And a close-up of the cabling...
With any luck, this will be done in time before the summer hits! (Remember, here in Canada, we get about a week of spring between insanely cold and insanely hot weather.)
